  • Dingo....I came across a couple of video's that really bothered me. The second one....I even had tears running down my face. Of course I can't read their language but from I got on this one...Abhay looks as though the man is cutting the fangs out of a cobra. Now the second one....I could barely watch this to the end. The channel name is.....Snake man Haryana Satish Kumar. My God....I guess this cobra killed this baby and instead of getting it off of him....they just stabbed it with something. It looks like the cobra is continuously pumping venom in that baby....which I'm sure is gone by then but how do can they all just stand around and not get that cobra back so you can pick that poor baby up. I wish I had never seen this one.

  • Brilliant video Dingo! One think is, any animal from Singapore, Malaysia and the islands should have far more than 80% ground humidity, shouldn't it for the summer/monsoon seasons? Shouldn't these animals (ideally) be kept apart in a high (air) humidity for certain times of the year (with 'baths' on top!)? Or do they adapt quite a bit (particularly captive-bred nippers)? Cheers!

  • In my area currently there is a big debate on snake feeding. A lot of breeders and snake handlers around here believe that you should never feed a snake in their enclosure. The theory they are running on, is that a snake will get used to every time the tank opens being fed or the possibility of being fed and become bitey.

    James HarrisonJames HarrisonUukausi sitten
    • That's so true 👍 Not just in the reptile world, even with any animal or pet you get. You have to do your research and see what their needs are and meet them. Too many ppl get Animals and they don't know how to take care of them the right way and then they end up having miserable lives, get sick all time or are just plain unhappy and depressed. EDUCATE YOURSELF ON ANY ANIMAL BEFORE YOU GET IT AND GIVE THEM THE BEST, MOST NATURALISTIC WAY TO LIVE AND THRIVE 👍❤

They have a hide on the hot side and a moist hide filled with damp sphagnum moss, a branch for climbing if they want to, and a water dish. I do have their heat mats on a thermostat, but it only has the ability to set it at one temperature. So it never drops. But they do have a cool side too. Is that going to be ok? • You have the best, most size appropriate enclosures of any reptile keeper. Even your baby bins are set up perfectly. You give them what they need to physically healthy. They have a lot of enrichment so they are happy emotionally and mentally. Many don’t realize that even reptiles get depressed and very down. They just die. And there’s many types of animals that die when they r taken out of the wild and put into captivity. So providing them with all these things isn’t just important, it’s an absolute must. Thank you for caring for them so perfectly. And thank you for educating others on how to keep their reptiles. I pray that this video will help many reptiles who aren’t in appropriate enclosures.

Getting a corn snake as they are one of my favourite species (top 5 being gaboon viper, corn snake, Burmese python, king cobra, mangshan viper). Doing so much research so this was ultra helpful! Going to get a male from a local exotic specialist store in UK and I think will call him Thor!

    AmyAmyUukausi sitten
  • Tom Crutchfield just did a video with Kamp Kenan on his Mang Shan vipers. He has about five or six of them together & he built a big open indoor enclosure for them where they could stay cool and he gave them basking platforms and he left the windows open so they could get rained on as well. Since they are from a cooler climate mountainous region. It was a quick episode.

  • Glad you did this video. I got 2 snakes that are incredibly easy to take care of, a corn snake and king snake. We ended up getting a ball python, and can't seem to get his humidity right(ohio), much more work than the other you don't want to get a snake youll end up neglecting. Luckily I have time to deal with the ball python, although I would not recommend a ball python over a corn snake or kingsnake, in the USA. Or go into it understanding the ball python will require extra work.

    Jp CoastJp CoastUukausi sitten
    • @Amy I've got a reptile humidifier for him, he still struggles a bit during sheds. I've watched snake discovery, I dont really have any questions about care, I've got the snakes handled. this was a tip, for people that think ball python is perfect and easy, sometimes its not so simple. Like I said, hes the only one of my snakes that requires extra care, if thats something people aren't interested in, I would steer towards a cornsnake.

      Jp CoastJp CoastUukausi sitten
    • Do you use a humidity box with damp moss in so the ball can use? Also, I've heard that keeping ball pythons in a plastic box enclosure creates better humidity than glass/wood vivs. Check out Snake Discovery channel on here, Emily posts some really great info videos

  • Nice to see your enclosures set up how they are! Can't stand all these ball python& other snake breeders that have racks of snakes like a reptile version of a puppy Mill

    Cooney. BCooney. BUukausi sitten
    • Yeah true, but Dingo also has ball pythons in racks, cause they tend to do better in a rack system as he explained in the video. Otherwise I agree that Dingo has the most amazing enclosures for his snakes and if you just get one snake 🐍 then make sure you'll give the snake the most naturalistic enclosure as possible. Rather than getting many snakes you put in racks, get 1 or 2 snakes and provide them with the best care possible. Quality over quantity 👌 That's with all animals, not just with snakes and reptiles. But mostly breeders use rack systems and sadly that's the only way they can keep up with all the snakes the best and cheapest way for them. It's still better than how chickens are kept, bred and raised. Too many in a rack or cage system, right on top of one another, it's just disgusting. And then a big company like Tyson doesn't even care about it's employees. We've learned so much how everything went down during covid and how they made sick ppl work and did bet on who'd get sick next. Just disgusting! I get my meat, chicken and eggs from a local farmer who also has a butchery and I'd rather support them than these huge breeding and processing plants. Off topic here a bit, but every animal should have a decent upbringing and free roaming life 👍

  • How important is it to give your snake a brumation / hibernation period?

    Bubba JenkinsBubba JenkinsUukausi sitten
    • From the research I've done (check out Emily at Snake Discovery, or Chris Hardwick's channel) it's not necessary to brumate any snake that's purely a pet and not used for breeding. If you plan on breeding then it is better to brumate them to have a natural breeding season, however, it's not mandatory. Hope this helps
