Add in dangerous reptile's and the need to entertain and educate fans I don't blame you taking time off no matter how long. I hope to see you again in the future. • Maybe you need a break? The FIstart algorithms are so frustrating. Is there a way people can help more?? I'm sure those who could certainly would. How about a TV show?? Gosh we don't have anything here really since Steve Irwin passed, maybe a channel would consider it? Even just a 2-3 year contract that could financially aid you til your facility is running well. And then consider whether you continue it?? Just a thought. I do think I get it. You are tired, uninspired. Not from the animals but the day to day life pressures that are worsened by Covid.

  • Similar experience for me recently dingo. I just lost one of my tegus. It was a devastating loss for me and my whole family. I cant give you all the credit for my reptile passion , as Brian barczyk was the youtuber who introduced me to keeping reptiles, but with that introduction i found my way on to your channel and you definitely changed my life for the better. I have been subbed and watching for at least 6 months now. And honestly the vids on your conservation interests me more then on the hots, as i wont be keeping them. To high a risk for me. But whatever vids you decide to make, I'll be here and watching. Take a brake my boy recharge that motivation and we will be here!

  • Remember you don't need to have depression to justify taking care of your mental health, in the same way, that you don't need to be bitten by a black mamba to justify seeing the doctor. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure in both, and your mental health is worth *preserving!* --not just recovering if it ever gives out :) Much love and respect; thanks for all you do from the US.

  • Maybe you should do 2 channels. One for general animals and conservation and your main snake channel. You can then reach a different audience who say love channels like the Lion Whisperer and Gatorland. Your snake channel mainly appeals to snake people. I think you need to separate the two and build the one up. Everyone is struggling financially as you know and people are down all over, you're not alone but the vaccines are rolling out and things are getting better. Hang in there Dingo.

  • You can't stop doing what you love to do Dingo and your videos and information is so valuable to others that want and need to learn my friend !! I've been on FIstart 13 years now doing snake education and you have to be a voice for the snakes my friend !!! Several times I considered giving it up but I couldn't let my snakes down they need to be heard so others can learn from them !!! Sometimes you have to take a step back and rethink your situation because you have responsibilities to your reptiles but they do depend on your care :) If I have an off day I won't take my snakes out because they can sense when I'm acting different and that stresses them out and that's not fair to them :(

  • Hi Dingo, I am a fellow south African. Just to say that I'm 30 and have worked and studied in the field of conservation, even working in Botswana for some time. I get how the legacy of our work becomes bigger than we are. Just understand your priorities now, and understand that the pursuit of the needed dangerous video content might start to add up probability. You have proved to yourself and us that you can run a fantastic channel. However the territory is a bad one, with channels popping up all over the net competing with your viewership. The channels are out there are of teenagers and young men, like chandler and tyler holding snouted cobras, rattlers and even free handing puff ladders. There is nothing conservation wise about what they are promoting, just wrecklacness and they will swallow up every other channel promoting conservation. If I were you I would walk away while ontop, mayne go back into the corporate field from which you were previously and take it from there. Maybe you can reassess your channel towards the kids stuff or towards the day in the life of a zoo. But, free handling black mambas as a form of income is no way sustainable. Thor even, these creatures will never be truly habituated. Your passion and emotional connection is getting in the way of the fact that these creatures are completely in control and if decide to bite you will be in anaphylaxis within seconds. Dont be trapped by your passions and dont be blinded by your one sided emotional connection with these reptiles. I think we both know that all those snakes are made for, and belong in the wild, and we must take care of ourselves and each other

  • Has anyone ever heard of a creature called the 'Leesie Snake'? A friend of mine lives in Southern California and he told me that there is a snake there which lives in the Califronia desert and which is one of the most poisonous snakes in the world, called the 'Leesie Snake'. I have looked for information on this creature but can not find any......I think that maybe my friend is playing a joke on me, but he says that it is absolutely true.......that this terrifying 'Leesie Snake' has claimed many victims and the locals live in fear of falling victim to this dangerous predatory 'Leesie' snake.

I know what its like cause I fractured my hip and haven't been able to sit in relaxing position for years following.. anyhow, hope you didn't hurt yourself too bad? Let me know with a responce.. I ended up needing almost my whole spine radio frequency ablation which is where they burn the nerves so that you won't feel pain while it heals, but me being a dumbass. I went riding my bicycle too soon on a 50 mile trip and ended up impacted in my bum and was in pain for almost 2 years.. its under control now but since there's so many nerves it is very hard to decide where to continue.. it definitely took my vitality away from me after loosing 25lbs and then because of being impacted I found myself wanting only to lay around and sleep all the time.. anyway, I hope you're ok

But know that we love and support you and want the best for you, your family, and staff. We are in your corner and if that means taking some time off for a short amount of time or indefinitely, we will understand and have you in our thoughts. You do so much for animals and for us in a variety of ways, the least we could do is be understanding and respectful of whatever you may need. As much as we enjoy your videos and want to see more of them,we want you to feel your best and not bogged down by the pressures of creating content. Just don't ever quit doing the conservation my main man you are the biggest influence I've seen since Steve Irwin it looks like you really get out there and live it and not every video has to be about biting and almost dieing I watch your channel as a regular morning TV show myself and I can say this you have a big heart and a lot of energy and life your a big character larger than life id venture to say even and we all love ya keep doing what you do m8 ain't nothing better then seeing that real smile that you got when your watching your animals and it helps us all learn. Sincerely a humble fan of your great adventures.

  • Keep going Dingo, I have learned so much from you about snakes and this is a really good show. I am also pleased that you are no longer keeping the Bushmaster as I had a bad feeling about that one more especially because we don't have anti/venom for it in South Africa and even if you get the antivenom you will most likely die. That was a beautiful snake but definitely not a good colleague.

Iv'e been trying to get there for some time now. You keep things interesting with your channel, audio and video is done well. Very well. Your very likeable and i'll miss seeing africa. I hope you just slow down, or find away to keep it working. I know many people through out my life that have gotten snakes, and do have snakes, and people go straight to youtube to understand or learn things, and your very effective at making it interesting to learn about snakes, and it's probably great for people to have somewhere to learn they enjoy that saves some of the animals from being abused. I hope your fans change your mind. :)
