Your the reason why I have developed such a passion for snakes and have slowly gotten into handling them. I’ve learnt a lot from you and am continually learning all the time. If your ever in Cape Town and on a herp I’d love to join. Or if there is any way I could get involved please let me know. Cheers!

  • Oh Dingo I just think your great but how I wish you would get some better boots on when your clearing your land like that! The last thing you need to do is to take a bite from one of those land mines or crush your foot or twist an ankle on a log. There’s a reason logging is consistently listed as the most dangerous occupation over here in the states! I literally jumped out of my skin when that puffy struck backwards in the video clip.

  • First, CONGRATS ON GETTING TO THE QUARTER OF A MILLION SUBSCRIBERS LEVEL!!! WOW! Now, a couple of questions: I'm guessing ALL adders are venomous, but is this particular one the worst of the lot? And are there any other species of snakes that can do that much tissue damage? Wednesday's schedule shows it's going to be a tough day at work, but I promise to try and make it for the live broadcast! :-)

  • what do you mean when saying the puff adder is the landmine of south africa ?

    liamthegreat22liamthegreat227 kuukautta sitten
    • Hi! It means as they are well camouflaged and you cannot see them and they kill more people in Africa than any other snake they are like landmines. Hope this helps👍

  • Imagine having a "Dingo Zoo" /sanctuary..that would be amazing..people could come and pay to visit.. here in Tennessee I live like 20 minutes from Nashville born and raised I stay in the woods hints my name outdoor life Keith on my FIstart channel.. but cottonmouths is what I run up on 90% of the time cuz I'm in the creeks and water ..I very rarely see copperheads anymore people have almost decimated them and my nephew I got the picture I'd love it to you of a six and a half foot Timber Rattler was in the process of having Young as they found her and unfortunately they killed it I was pissed..

    • As a breast cancer survivor it’s upsetting to me that any snakes get killed and not relocated but especially the copperhead as there venom is used to help aid in the fighting of breast cancer. A lot of people don’t think about the benefits different venoms can have and we are just finding out a lot of these things through research. They are put here for a reason and we know they are important for our ecosystem but that may not be the only reason.

  • As a teenager, I was walking around our family farm barefoot in Nottingham Road and stood on a puff adder. I felt the squishy flesh under my barefoot. But it didn't strike, this was in winter so it was in a state of semi- hibernation. As kids we always walked around the farm barefoot, winter or summer. Our feet were tough as nails.

  • Really on edge when that puff adder is so close to your hands and face, especially as it’s such an incredibly fast striker. You obviously know what you’re doing, so good for you. As for the puffy, surely one of the most beautiful snakes on the planet, and being so well camouflaged adds to the danger.

  • I would have to be wearing full plate mail if I were cutting down trees in Africa. That Puff Adder is nearly invisible. Reminds me of some of the copperheads I've nearly stepped on, especially when they're in leaves. Glad you didn't get bitten. When I see a snake I just turn and go the other way. I'd rather watch them through my monitor than in real life.
