HUGE SNAKE BITES AND CONSTRICTS OWNER - Lady gets bitten by 11 foot Reticulated Python!!!

In todays video I comment on a recent video that was posted of a lady being bitten and constricted by her 11 foot pet Reticulated Python. This video is a commentary on what went wrong and in no way a reflection on the lady's handling of the snake or the situation.

  • My herpetological expertise lies in the behaviour of both Retics and Anacondas. She was improperly prepared for handling. I’ve been working with these animals for over 30 years, and hold three degrees specializing in the behaviour, physiology, and medical care for them. I’ve been bitten by several species, but never a Retic. For a Retic that large, a hook should have been used to ensure the snake could be signalled out of feeding mode and into curiosity/explore mode. Additionally, I vehemently disagree with you in your decision to label them dangerous. They are not dangerous inherently, provided they are domestically bred, conditioned early in their lives to be accustomed to human interaction, and the caregiver is adequately prepared in equipment and knowledge. They don’t reach immense size if knowledge is held in the activation of size genes, and they can develop personalities similar to other more traditional domestic animals. I have new research publications underway that dramatically support my statements. The public should not be misled into believing in the inflated dangerous presuppositions of these animals by FIstart content creators; it’s misinformation such as this that brings about care restrictions in domestic settings that do not match the actual threat posed; a threat of zero when proper education and equipment are at hand. Please be more aware of the damage one can do to the legislation by promoting hyperbolic discussion.

  • When I was 13 I had got a 8 ft burmees python and that wasn't my first snake I used to go snake wrangling every day after school and I've have many read tail boas by choice because there very calm but any way my 8 ft snake pushed it's way out the cageone night and after school the next day I came down the driveway and noticed my snake wrapped around the post on the pourch. It was pissed after sun bathing all day and the snake was very aggressive. After getting it back in the cage all was good until I gave it water and it bit both the ends of my hands. Idk how but one thing is this snake was so strong. I watched the big squeeze on d channel and remembers the alcohol or hot water will release them and that's how i got it off. Hot water in the tub Just had bad gash like wounds over my hands and I sold that snake a day later. Snake got sick and died a couple weeks after leaving. ? Weird

  • I totally agree I'm a horse trainer and breeder all my life 1200 to 1500 lb animals and anything that has caused my injuries is always to my fault not my animal we get a little too comfortable sometimes because we think we know the animal but animals have bad days just like people do I'm going to keep the short because I could go on and on of reasons why animals react the way they do but you are definitely more knowledgeable on snakes than I am but an animal is an animal and if they got teeth they will bite if they've got hooves they will kick always be respectful of the animal and be aware of your surroundings and how you treat the animal let your guard down and bad things can happen but it's to your own fault it's never the animals fault and I will say that 100%. Anytime I've ever been hurt it's always been my own fault and thank you for your great videos I love them very educational cuz I know nothing about snakes and I love it because I'm really actually scared of snakes thank you God's B Tina Lee

  • WOW!! What an AWESOME and very INFORMATIVE video! I am a a new Ball Python snake owner since Nov.14, 2020. I, or anyone in my family or household has ever owned a snake before. I have researched, and researched, and researched some more, and am still researching, which is how I found your videos. With this stated, this video was probably meant for me to find because I have come to love and trust my ball python quite a bit, and most likely have come to trust her a little too much. But, through all of my research, I can usually tell when not to put my hand in the bin to pick my girl up. However, this video confirmed some of my gut instincts as well. Thank you for making this video! I can tell very much that you love your snakes like I love my girl, 🔥 Ball Python, Marci!!❤️😘❤️😘🌹🌹🌹

  • Thank you for that. My son has a Reticulated python, she is about 10 foot and still growing. The only time really I hold her is when she sheds. She will not soak in water, but she will let me help her get bits off she hasnt managed. But that is done in kitchen over the washing up sink. She is happier that way. We did try bath once, never again, she tried scampering up the bathroom wall and onto shower curtain pole.

  • 2 methods I've never heard people do but have wondered about in regards to getting large pythons off of you are: 1) Biting the tip of the snakes tail. 2) Sticking the snakes head in water. How effective would those be? Also what about something preemptive for the handler like a spiked neck collar? Also I loved the warm water technique as that's simple yet effective!

Then I'm going to open up its enclosure and wait for it to stick its head out, then I'm going to stick my arm out so it can grab it with its huge mouth and then wrap itself around my entire body in an attempt to constrict me so it can eat me. I can't wait. Will upload video.

Calmly asked me if that was his arm over near the curb... I could do nothing but tell the truth. Is my friend alive. Once again " no buddy I'm sorry he no longer with us. He said "well can you get my arm for me?" I told him yes but it was being collected and put on ice as I spoke with him. Very very calmly he spoke. God bless them young men I witnessed that day. As I don't know the outcome. I went upstairs and cried for bit and went to bed very very early.

  • I had an 8 foot retic strike me in the face as I opened its cage when it was at face level. It was a pretty defensive snake and would hiss at me if I tried to touch it but would eventually calm down. I had teeth marks on my forehead and below my eye. i was lucky not to lose my eye. Fortunately it did not get a hold of me but was more of a punch to the face with open mouth. I did not keep that snake. I had large burmese and indian pythons that were very tame especially the indian python, it never showed any aggressive behavior. Retics have much larger heads in proportion to their body size though.
