I could not be a Snake handler too much " CHICKEN IN ME" THE MONGOOSE IS WITTY ALO LIGHTING FAST AND VERY CONFIDENCE IN IT ABILITY. LIKES THE CHALLENGE an once it makes up it minds the CHALLENGE is on.amazing to watch for me. I like the Bob Cat and RATTLESNAKE GO AT IT THE BOBCAT seems too enjoy the tug of war. I enjoy it best I saw a Housecat and a Copperhead go at it the cat was enjoying the snake trying to bite it my story later if you wish add a comment

  • Mongoose are faster and more intelligent than Mamba. You can see in other videos how they bide their time and strategize, creating opportunity. I think a mongoose knows how to outsmart a 3-4 meter black mamba. Maybe Mamba gets lucky every so often but doubt it's the norm.

  • Mongoose reflexes are damn great.. he dodge every attacked tried the snake and boom snap at the head.. one shot kill. Evolution at its best..

    Sagar SawantSagar SawantUukausi sitten
  • I think that the mongoose will still win even if the black mamba is longer than the one that was killed in the video. I have seen the mongoose kill a bigger and longer king cobra than the mamba that was killed here. The small mongoose is just bolder, faster, smarter, and with quick reflexes to tire the mamba or cobra after circling around it several times, and then sever the head muscles from behind every time. Above all, the mongoose rarely misses when it strikes the snake from the back of the neck, and this happens so fast. It is just amazing that the mongoose is faster than the snake, and it doesn't make a difference if it is a cobra or mamba. The mongoose is indeed the resident hitman of the snakes in the wild.

    • @XDKX101 I thought they both were going to die tbh The mongoose from the bites and the mamba from the sharp teeth of the mongoose. And yeah resistant doesn't mean immune !!!

      stephanie elliottstephanie elliottUukausi sitten
    • They can't beat a king cobra for sure, or some of the faster striking vipers like the lancehead. They're best against smaller cobras who strike top down and slowly so barely tag them And venom resistant, not immune. I'm willing to bet something like a taipan bite can still get through a mongoose fairly quickly

      XDKX101XDKX101Uukausi sitten
    • @Jake Lewis if the Boa is fast enough to catch it lol That mongoose looks as fast as road runner ... meep meep But given the right situation yes a Boa or any huge constricting snake can kill a mongoose, no problem!

      stephanie elliottstephanie elliottUukausi sitten
    • Lord over the venomous class of snakes, however, put a big Boa in there with the mongoose and it doesn’t have a chance.

      Jake LewisJake LewisUukausi sitten
    • There is a video of a badger fighting a big cobra. Cobra gets a few good bites in. The badger kills the Cobra but then takes a nap right next to the slain cobra. It wakes up sometime later and enjoys lunch. The venom must have an effect. So I think to a certain degree they are resistant to snake venom but it does have an effect on them. Evolution played it part with the snake and also with the animals that hunt snakes.

  • I don't mind these encounters as long as it's captured in the wild. I absolutely can't stand it when people make any animals fight on purpose and I'm sure you're the same. I would find it interesting to see how a fully mature Mongoose does against a fully mature and experienced Black Mamba. I think a Honey Badger would beat them both....maybe not physically. They might lose but in sheer bravado and self-esteem, they always win.

There are dozens of them running around in my backyard here in Sri Lanka and thanks to them I never have to worry about venomous snakes like cobras and Russel's vipers. • This is the wrong way to look at this subject. It is not a "War" it is simply nature at work, and survival of the fittest. Both of these stunning creatures have a equally important place in the ecology. Man has been, and will continue to be (if we ever grow up) the most destructive predator on this planet. With our misplaced arrogance that we are above nature, the future is bleak!!!. I have seen this film before and it has added footage of different snakes cut all through its length. I've seen a few other videos of snake / mongoose conflicts, and the result has been different every time. They are both remarkable creatures. Keep up the good fight Dingo!! Cheers from Aus
