We have many species including Prairie Rattlesnakes, Western Diamondback Rattlesnakes, Western Pygmy Rattlesnakes, Timber Rattlesnakes, and Western Massasauga Rattlesnakes.

  • They hunt them for population control. Not all the killings are just to kill. Some do but majority kill them so they don’t overpopulate. Kinda like coyotes so they don’t overpopulate and kill all the cattle.

  • Hey Dingo, hope u come to Kentucky when u come to the US. You all have a place to stay when u come to the states. My service dog Jake will love to meet you. I was ripped off when I paid money for my baby male western hog nose snake I had named Dingo. He told me to pay the money thru PayPal, but to use family and friends category to send it. So I did. And now he is saying that I gave him a gift. It wasn’t a purchase. Then when he saw my rescue had a huge following , and that everyone was harassing him about taking my money, then he took down his web sight and Facebook. Being disabled, I don’t have that kind of money to just throw away, and I now don’t have money to buy a new snake. I’m so totally heartbroken. (I’m in Kentucky in the USA, not that it matters, but I wanted my snake so badly. I’ve waited a long time to get him. ) I would appreciate suggestions on how to get my money back. I now have no money to get another, and I can’t even get any merch from u all. I would love a tee shirt and iPhone case. Oh I’ve heard your shoutouts to me Dingo, so I was just saying I’m a lady and it’s my Service dog Jake that’s a male. (Not that it matters, u always call me man. lol. Be safe everyone. Hopefully we are at the end of all this quarantine. Oh I ended up sewing masks because the doctors masks didn’t fit me with my feeding tube in my nose. So I made a bunch. If anyone needs one if they too have medical equipment (oxygen or NG tube like mine), I’ll mail u a hand sewn cloth mask for no charge. It’s just to help u out.

  • Copperheads are the most common venomous snake in my area of the Southeast U.S. Fifty miles to my south, the cottonmouths can be found. Our area has Eastern Diamondbacks, Pygmy rattlers, Canebrake rattlers, and the ever-illusive coral snakes (never seen one in my life, but I know they are here). But because Copperheads are so common - and I live on wooded acreage, I must be careful walking about the yard and property after dark. I've found babies in my garage as well as sheds from adults.

  • Man I had a friend who I worked with at a golf course in Chattanooga,Tennessee who was walking looking for a golf ball in the weeds and leaves on the ground and got tagged by a decent size copperhead and he said the pain was like having volcanic lava poured on his leg and then having someone hit you with a baseball bat. He got bit right above his ankle. I remember being just shocked he had been bite that fast just split second. Now everytime I'm on the course I dont look for the ball in the weeds I look for either eastern Diamondbacks timbers copperheads and cottonmouths.

  • Beautiful Dingo, loving your channel. Gorgeous Copperhead! My Auntie used to live in Kentucky. She used to say that to keep the large Ants out of the house, they would lay cucumber slices by the door and that the cucumber gave off a similar scent to the Copperhead snake, which kept the Ants away? Not sure if this is true? Wonder if someone could answer this for me 🙂👍

  • It would be interesting to me to rate the American snake on the same scale you used to rate your most dangerous snakes. The.the prarir.rattlesnake would rate low because of lack of aggressiveness and relatively weak venom. The Western Diamondback would rate high because of the number of snakes and the potency of the venom. Coral snakes have potent venom but they are very nonaggressive. One kind is found in and near Phoenix Arizona. Another kind is found in Texas.

    Karl BergenKarl Bergen5 kuukautta sitten
  • Dingo, are you allergic to all venomous snakes, or is it a specific few?

    Martin LandersMartin Landers5 kuukautta sitten
  • Dingo, I was raised on a very large ranch in Northern California we do thin out the rattle snakes especially around the barns and ranch house and gardens they get huge can’t let them bite the live stock, dogs and children

    Regena asdfRegena asdf5 kuukautta sitten
  • It would be really nice if we could change the rattlesnake round ups into an event that relocates rattlesnakes instead of killing them. Who wouldn’t want to see rattlesnakes getting dumped on a man in a bathtub? They just don’t need to senselessly slaughter so many snakes. I don’t think you have heard about the people of Appalachia that hold venomous snakes during their church services. Make sure you include that on your North American trip.

  • Love the channel and content Dingo! I've read that the Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnake is one of the heaviest of all venomous snakes. King cobra is the longest, but is it heavier than the Gaboon Viper or the Eastern Diamondback rattlesnake? It's probably different in average weight versus maximum weight of the largest specimens. How do you rate these three? (Or any other possibly heaviest venomous species). I would really appreciate to hear your thoughts on this, kinda like the reticulated python versus green anaconda comparison of length versus weight.

    physaksphysaks5 kuukautta sitten
    • @Dingo Dinkelman Thanks so much Dingo, very interesting. One more question: is the Cascabel as venomous or even more venomous than the Mojave?

      physaksphysaks5 kuukautta sitten
    • physaks I would say a big king is still the heaviest but it could be close between them and a big gabby. In terms of vipers Gaboons are the heaviest with Bushmasters being the longest

  • Hey Dingo, I'm still waiting on you to name one of your Snakes Christopher, after my son.. I'm so against that Damn Rattlesnake Round up. I hate that so damn much. People killing Rattlesnakes, just to kill 'em. Damn that makes me so mad.... My best Rattlesnake is the Eastern Diamondback. But I love the Tropical Rattlesnake/Cassacabelle.. But the Western Diamondback isn't a Rattler to mess with either.. That was good, when you said, Mr.Dingos my Dad bud. I'm just Dingo. That was funny... But, I still want to know the question, l asked you.. Is the Pygmy Rattlesnake Cannibalistic? Cuz I thought there were no Cannibalistic Rattlesnakes. But I heard the Pygmy Rattlesnake is. So I'm asking U.. ls the Pygmy Rattlesnake Cannibalistic, or not? BTW. I have the same question about the Black Mamba to.. ls the Black Mamba Cannibalistic? I can't wait for next week, when you do the show about the glovs being Snake Proof, with the King Cobra. Cuz the King Cobra is my best Snake of all Snakes.. l can't wait for the show next week, cuz the King Cobra rules.

  • Dingo that smell you refer to is musk! All of our pit vipers in the US musk. Copperheads kill people occasionally. Usually it’s due to anaphylaxis. But once in a while an elderly person or small child. Most people bitten by the copperhead require little to no antivenom. Usually hospitalization overnight for observation. Copperhead venom is relatively weak compared to most snake venoms.
